Looking back on 2014
It’s that time of year again when we begin to say ‘goodbye’ to 2014 and ‘hello’ to the New Year. It’s a time for reflection and a time to say thank you.
We want to start by thanking those of you who have helped shape our business over the last 12 months. 2014 has been a great year for Brunel and we look forward to 2015 being even better.
At the start of this year, we predicted that there would be a gradual economic recovery and whilst there have been some bumps along the way, it’s pleasing to see green shoots with growth forecasts being revised upwards, as outlined in the recent Autumn Statement.
2014 saw some big changes to the rules governing ISAs. This welcome move now means many of you benefit from greater flexibility, as well as the increase in tax free savings allowances.
We pride ourselves on keeping you up to date on any major economic and legislative changes that may affect you and as always are here to help with any questions or queries you may have.
Here at Tower Wharf, we’ve enjoyed a positive year. January saw us launch our online presence including our Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn business pages. We also refreshed our website to make it mobile and tablet friendly.
As part of our holistic approach to financial planning, we launched our Estate Planning service earlier in the year. We wanted to make the process as simple as possible, which is why we teamed up with our friends in the legal profession to deliver the service.
Following the success of our charity work in 2013, the team decided to jump on their saddles in the summer and take part in the Ride for Precious Lives charity cycle event in aid of Children’s Hospice South West, our nominated charity. We cycled a distance of 210 miles over the course of a 3-day long weekend and raised £3,000 in the process – a great achievement for all involved.
On a final note, a special mention to the new clients who joined us this year and a very big welcome to all.
We understand that it’s vital that we continue to provide you with the best possible advice, which is why we are always looking to improve what we do. If you have any feedback, good or bad, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
From the team at Brunel
